"Weird Al" Band Picture for 2013

On April 22, 2013 "Weird Al" Yankovic performed at the Uptown Theater in Kansas City, Missouri. In anticipation of that event I posted several study sketches for this final image.The theme I chose was Walking Dead Al. It is on watercolor paper with Winsor & Newton Watercolor Pans and touched up with black Pitt pens.(In the end I chose to keep the image.)
The concert was awesome, the seats were close, and  the company was cool! I highly recommend catching one of his concerts. I have been to 8, now!!

Christmas Commission

Back in December I received a call from a friend for an image for a t-shirt of his family in the style of those stick figure stickers you see on the backs windows of cars. Rather than mimic, this is how I would do draw them. My caricature training really helped out here. I really enjoy simplifying a face down to as few things as possible and still retaining likeness and/or personality of the subject.My friend is the character holding the ipad. Can you find whose shoe the dog has?

WEIRD AL: part 3

Part 3. Weird Al. Lead Singer "Weird Al" Yankovic. The concert is this Monday the 22nd. I have some pretty awesome tickets on the floor. I even have a friend who is on the first floor and is going to the Meet & Greet with Al. The last of the 7 concerts I went to I tried to meet and give him a picture I had done of the whole group back in 2011. Those pictures are posted on this blog back then. The picture I am referring to has him hanging from the Arch with his band below. I still don't know if it Weird got it or not. Hopefully, this time will be different!

Applebee's box art #1

Usually every Monday, after getting together with friends we frequent the local Applebee's taking advantage of their half-price appetizer specials after 9pm. Here is mine. This was actually done on a Tuesday night (still half-priced!) Anyway, if they are better than this one expect to see more.Inside you would find the rest of my Honey BBQ Boneless wings and Mozzarella Sticks. Yum!
