2010 Monkeys in the Park

It's often been a un-established tradition that I usually draw everyone as something. My most favorite was the everybody's a superhero year which was posted here a few years back. (Noteworthy: This was also the first drawing of my alter-ego "Cookieman" in costume.) Which is soon to be fleshed out on comic book form by years end(if not sooner). But I digress, this year EVERYONE'S A MONKEY. Not to be confused with one year everyone's an animal(not posted). So here are: L-R Robert, Jacob, Linda, Jordan, Me(with cookies), Colin, Jimmy, Anthony, Greg, Ryan(with pride), and Mike. It's been a bit of a slow year thus far so, I admonish you to come down to the park(Six Flags St. Louis) and patronize us (in the business sense).

Lost

Since the final episodes are airing I thought it fitting to jump on the bandwagon and do a Lost Caricature. Having Only seen the pilot and a couple episodes, I am definetly not an authority on the above series. But J.J. Abrahms story is engrossing enough to contine my watching it on Hulu. If only I had more time.(like an extra month). Anyways, I hope you enjoy this entry. Original size: 12 x 16. Medium: Graphite & Airbrush. (Included, is the quasi-complete black/white drawing. Added as a behind the scenes look at my process.)

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day! This caricature was done for my eldest sister. Meet my neice, Molly. This picture actually does two things at once. You see Molly's Birthday was yesterday. So, Happy Birthday, Molly! Medium: Graphite & Airbrush Original 12 x16.(photo courtesy of Heidi M. Weber).

Bullock's Blind Side

Sandra Bullock. Oscar Winner Best Actress of "The Blind Side"(great movie). Unfortunately this wonderful actress is being overshadowed by her former husband Jesse James' escapades and according to Entertainment Weekly he is now "the Most Hated Man in the World". I agree. Poor, poor Sandra!!

Elijah Wood

Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins. Also done for "Let's Draw". Medium-Marquette, Blue colored pencil, and Photoshop colors.

Mozart

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. His birthday was yesterday, another "Lets Draw" entry. Medium green colored pencil and Marquette.

Paul Newman

Cool Hand Luke. Butch Cassidy. Newman's Own. Nobody's Fool. However you remember him an all around nice guy and founder of the Hole-in-the-wall Gang the late great Paul Newman had a birthday the other day. Drawn for the "Lets Draw" section at www.caricature.org the website of the International Society of Caricature Artists to which I have belonged since 2007. Medium-blue pencil and Markette.
